TOUR NOTE: 
 
  • Tour is available in English and Spanish
  • This is a walking tour. We recommend you wear comfortable shoes. 
  • In case of physical or other limitations please book  "City tour by car"
  • You can book a full-day tour (6 hours) or a half-day tour (3 hours).
  • Guide will meet you at your hotel at the start of your tour. 
  • We ride the metro to get from your hotel to the Convent.
  • Please, note, that Novodevichy Convent and Novodevichy Cemetery are different places located next to each other.
  • Convent and Cemetery are open daily from 10:00 am to 17:00 pm.
  • No shorts and short skirts, open shoulders and short trousers are allowed in the convent for both, men and women. 
  • Tour price includes: pick up and drop off at your hotel, Metro tickets, guided entrance to Convent and Cemetery and entry tickets. 
  • In case these places are the part of customized tour, the tickets to Cemetery and Convent are not included, you will buy tickets for you and your tour guide. Ticket to Convent is 500 Rubles per person, ticket to Cemetery is 500 Rubles  per person
  • Please, take some layers to keep warm as it is windy on the Sparrow Hills. 
  • Please note that lunch is not included to price of this tour.

Metro station "Sportivnaya"

The station was opened in 1957 as a part of red line section between Park Kultury and Sportivnaya. Named for the nearby Luzhniki sports complex.

Novodevichy convent

one of Moscow`s most beautiful cloisters, is nestled in the southwest of Moscow where the Moskva River bends to form what looks like a peninsula. The architectural ensemble of the Novodevichy Convent is a miniature copy of the Kremlin. is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is linked with Russia's historic, cultural, and religious development.

It is an amazing architectural monument, and also the greatest of Moscow`s attractions, second only to the Kremlin. This place occupies a very specific place in Russian history. On the grounds surrounded by the Kremlinesque walls, which were built to act as a fortress, are four cathedrals including the majestic four-onion globes of Smolensky Cathedral which dates back to 1524.

The cemetery

is well worth visiting, not just to pay homage to the great and good buried here - Chekhov, Bulgakov, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Eisenstein and Stanislavsky, to name but a few - but also to marvel at the extraordinary granite and metal monstrosities that crown the graves of various politicians and military commanders of the Soviet era. It is a fascinating experience.

The cemetery territory

Notable graves include Stalin's wife, Mayakovsky, Gogol, Eisenstein, Khrushchev and Yeltsin.
 
Cemetery is open daily from 10:00 am to 17:00 pm.

Metro Bridge

The bridge, which is known as the Luzhniki Metro Bridge, or simply "Metromost", and spans the Moskva River, was originally built in 1958.

The only station of Moscow Metro situated on a metro bridge. 
Vorobyovy Gory without a doubt is one of the most interesting stations of the Metro.

Vorobyovy gory, that is one of the seven hills of Moscow, became a part of the city only a half-century ago, in 1987 it was announced as a natural monument and in 1998 became a part of the specially protected natural area — state nature sanctuary “Vorobyovy gory” that was created to protect natural and historical legacy of Moscow.

Observation deck

Vorobyovy gory’s observation platform opens magnificent view of the river and the panorama of Moscow and coming down to the Moscow river bank one may relax and sunbathe on a grass. There are jogging ways and cycling tracks, volleyball and basketball sites, sports areas, mountain skiing schools and skiflying schools there. No words or even photos can describe just how gorgeous picture of Moscow is, which takes your breath away. 

Moscow State University (MGU)

Building is located in Vorobyovy Gory (Sparrow Hills). One of the most distinct features of the Moscow skyline, Stalin's so-called seven sisters are still amongst some of the tallest buildings in Europe.

Luzhniki stadium

 is the biggest sports stadium in Russia. It was the chief venue for the 1980 Summer Olympics. It will host the World Cup of 2018.

Metro station "Universitet"

Built in 1959, named after nearby Moscow State University.
