Egg house

The Egg House in Mashkov Street was designed by architect Sergei Tkachenko and art dealer Marat Gelman, who had planned to build an egg-shaped maternity hospotal in Bethlehem. However, their conceptual ideas were not accepted with much interest in Palestine, so they decided to make a scaled down version in Moscow.

Chinese pagoda

Chinese pagoda

The Perlov Tea House is the most appropriate place for people who are seeking a relaxing atmosphere and tasteful tea as well. This building is the most representative landmark for Moscow, as it is extremely old. One of the most surprising details regarding the Perlov Tea House is its Chinese design, which is completely from the Russian culture or architecture. The visitors can easily observe pagodas and dragons, which are specific to the Chinese culture. (Entry is included)

Et Cetera theater

The theatre has its own purpose-built building. It is one of the most beautiful theatre buildings of Moscow.

Chistye Prudy

Famous Boulevard Ring is formed of ten boulevards that resembled something of a horseshoe in shape, the "heels" of which ended at the Moscow River's embankments. One of these boulevards is Chistoprudnyi Boulevard.

Commode house

Mansion of Apraksin and the Trubetskys is located in central Moscow on Pokrovka street. It is virtually the only surviving baroque-style mansion in Moscow and was built by one of the students of Rastrelli, a celebrated architect responsible for many palaces in St. Petersburg, for field marshal Apraksin, famous for his victories in the war with Prussia. Presently it is a maternity hospital.

TV house

This building was constructed in the late thirties as a symbol of the Soviet era - in the spirit of socialist neoclassicism.

Locomotive

Grand "lokomotiv-house" is located in Moscow, at the corner of the Garden Ring and the Novaya Basmannaya Street. From the side the building does not look very bright, but so called constructivizm style. It looks unusual only for its design of pipe tower. In fact, this building used to be warehouses at the end XVIII-th century, known as the Reserve Palace, and later academician Fomin rebuilt them for modern use. There is a large clock on the "Pipe-tower".

Moscow Boulevard ring

Today boulevards are Moscow integral part, and it is difficult to imagine that only two centuries ago there were no trees and park benches but an assailable fortress wall, the wall which surrounded the area of the Kremlin and Kitai-Gorod.

By the 18th century it had lost its defensive significance and started to dilapidate; that is why it was dismantled and replaced with the Boulevard Ring.

Melnikov's house (Beehive)

The Melnikov House, an iconic vestige of avant-garde architecture in Moscow,

the unusual, cylindrical classic of Constructivism which was Konstantin Melnikov’s residence and studio.

Spanish compound

Morozov’s Mansion on Vozdvizhenka Street, which combines elements of the modern and eclectic in its appearance,

includes an example of stylisation in a neoromantic spirit that is unique for Moscow architecture.

Yeliseyevsky store

The famous grocery store "Yeliseyevsky", opened a long time ago in 1901, is considered to be the first one in Moscow till now. Named in honour of its former owner and millionaire, Grigory Yeliseev, the store became famous not only for its big variety of products, but for luxurious decoration of sales areas in Neo-Baroque taste. Huge crystal chandeliers, reminding of bunches of grapes, decorate high archs of the sales area. Open 24/7. (Entry is inlcuded)

Fountain-Rotunda "Natalia and Alexander"

opened by the Moscow City Government 6 June 1999 in honor of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Pushkin

On 1 March (18 February) 1831 in the Church of the Great Ascension in Moscow,

the wedding took place of A.S. Pushkin and N.N. Goncharova

The only fountain with pure water (drinkable) in Moscow.

Gorky's house (Ryabushinsky mansion)

S.P. Ryabushinsky’s mansion is a remarkable monument of the Moscow modernist style, built in 1900-1903 upon the project by architect F.O. Shekhtel (Russian Gaudi).

It is currently home to the Gorky Memorial House Museum. The house is a visual fantasy with sculpted doorways, ceiling murals, stained glass, a carved stone staircase and exterior tilework.

Besides the fantastic decor it contains many of Gorky’s personal items, including his extensive library.

Open 11.00 - 17.30. Closed Mon, Tue, last Thu of the month.
